-Making animal noises: dog, cats, cow, duck, monkey...

I feel like October is always such a busy month. There doesn't seem to be enough time to fit all the fun Autumn activities in. We are trying though. Unfortunately I have also come down with the head cold from hell so my poor girls have been stuck inside for most of this week. Hopefully I can shake this cold soon and we can get back to our regularly scheduled October.

This month we actually started to participate in a preschool co-op with some friends. We each take a turn with all the kids and get a break the other 3 weeks. Amelia gets to play with her friends (and possibly learn something) and I get some alone time with Coco. Win win. The first week was at our house and she was so thrilled. I made her take the cheesiest of pictures outside. I already know that she will love when she gets to go to school. Such a sweet girl.
The rest of October we've been hitting pumpkin patches, leaf peeping, reading, walks to the beach, and hanging with Goosey.

Last I wanted to leave you with these gems. When I uploaded this pictures from my camera this selfie popped up. My girls sure know how to work the camera.
Amelia's pic reminded me of this selfie Coco brought us a few months ago. Yep, this still makes me laugh out loud.

Happy Friday!!!

Leaf Peeping

I LOVE leaf peeping. Love it. I try not to admit that to anyone though because leaf peepers are real annoying. It's people driving way too slow, stopping in the road, and tour bus loads full of peepers causing traffic. However, I don't think the leaves changing will ever get old for me. I find myself taking 400 pictures and driving old highway roads to soak it all in.

I accidentally went leaf peeping today. We went to our usual Wednesday story time at the library. After the library I promised the girls I would take them to a pumpkin patch. Well the pumpkin patch was a bust and they just ended up throwing small pumpkins at each other. I basically ran out of there embarrassed. On the way home the girls both fell asleep. Since they don't transfer well I decided to drive around a little. Well I ended up about 45 miles away from home in Wolfeboro, NH. It was so so so pretty!! It is a small town right on the edge of Lake Winnipesaukee. We snapped some pictures and enjoyed the view with a couple busloads of peepers.
These two are always holding hands. In fact Amelia wont let go for anything...even
if Coco is being drug behind her.
Hard to believe we are halfway through October and still not at peak foliage. Those are peeping terms.
Finally Coco is starting to smile for the camera.
We had a nice drive home but the girls were bursting with energy from sitting in the car. We played with the pumpkins on the porch for a good hour when we got home.
 Pumpkins from a pumpkin head.
This picture is so Coco. Always yelling and being silly.

Overall it was a successful leaf peeping fall day. I'm sure I will make Brian spend at least one more day driving around looking at foliage before the season is over. I am gonna have no problem finding my seat on those tour buses one day.

Happy Wednesday!

Pumpkin Valley Farm

It's October so that means it's pumpkin, candy corn, and cider time. I think everyone has a list of fall must do activities. We checked off apple picking and up next was a corn maze. I have never done a corn maze before so I was excited. I found a place nearby that has a gigantic (6 acre) corn maze, animals, hay ride, and a pumpkin patch. It was a beautiful drive through farm country and perfect for leaf peeping. Checking off all sorts of fall bucket list boxes.
The girls were running around like crazy and wanted to spend most of their time hanging with the animals. After using all my quarters to feed the goats we hit up all the other activities
The corn maze was surprisingly fun. I was apprehensive about going in with the girls by myself. I have no sense of direction and a 1 year old and a 3 year old as navigation buddies, didn't sound like the wisest idea. When we started the maze I had Amelia pick the directions which was so cute. She would tell me left, right, or straight and it usually ended up okay. There was one moment of panic when I was going in circles and could not figure out which way to go. I decided to start to take the paths that looked like they had been walked on the most and it worked cause the rest of the maze went really smooth. The girls LOVED it! I was really surprised that it was as fun as it was. After we were done I seriously considered going again, but it took us an hour...so no.
From the "lifted" bridge in the center of the maze.

 Playing in the corn pit.
The girls are getting to an age that is so fun. They are excited about everything and it makes me feel little like a kid again. But seriously though...corn maze...you won't regret it.

Happy October!
