18 Months & 1/2 Birthday!

In love with this picture!

18 Months
-1/2 Birthday!!!
-The sweetest age yet!
-Saying "woah" and "what happened".
-Starting to make animal noises (dog, horse, sheep, chicken).
-Becoming very independent, playing alone and chatting with toys.
-Completed her first puzzle on her own.
-Wants to "help" with everything. Mostly putting on clothes.

Today we are celebrating Amelia's 1/2 birthday!!! I love any reason to celebrate. By celebrate I mean make some treats, give presents, and take pictures. It really is no big deal but I love doing a little something for 1/2 birthdays and I plan on celebrating 1/2 birthdays with all my kids. So in true Tara form we had a festive breakfast. She had her normal breakfast of fruits and waffles, just cut in half. I also included a couple of gifts with her breakfast. She about died when she saw the little dog figurine. It looks just like Goose and I thought she was gonna have a panic attack.

I think I say this every month but this is my favorite age. She is learning her voice and forming an opinion. Her personality is really coming through and she is full of it. I love watching her learn new things and using her imagination. Amelia has always been a very sweet natured little girl but she has never been sweeter than right now. I am constantly asked, "Is she always like this?". Now of course she has her toddler moments, but 95% of the time she is content and sweet. I am sure the next one is gonna be a real stinker...but maybe I will get lucky again. It helps that Brian has such an easy going personality. I hope they all take after him because my job would be a lot easier.

I wanted to show the "out-takes" from our 18 month pictures this month. Normally we struggle to get one semi decent picture but this month she was hamming in up. She loves laughing at herself and these pictures really capture her personality. Sometimes we will spend 10-15 minutes just laughing at each other. Like real deep down belly laughing (does not get much better than that).

Notice her little Goosey figurine.

This picture is so Amelia. Sometimes I cry because
I feel so lucky (or because I am pregnant maybe)...I can't believe that I am admitting
that. Honestly this girl put a spell on me.

Last but not least her monthly pajama picture. We have already seen this picture  but it was so cute and I didn't feel like trying my luck.

Happy Wednesday!

Making Lemonade...

Brian and I are born and raised California kids. Brian is also super positive and I am a little more on the grumpy side. I try and he does rub off on me but I tend to be a little more glass half empty. So waking up this morning after more snow that fell on the two feet that is already on the ground had me feeling the winter blues. I find myself day dreaming of ice cold drinks, sandy toes, and a suntan. I don't think I was fully prepared for the amount of snow that lands in New England. We went to school in Idaho and there was a lot of snow there, but it was mostly cold. The snow here is wet and just keeps coming.

Just wanted to give you an idea of what we were dealing with the morning before I drove Brian to work.

the little hole we dug to put our car...can't wait to have a garage next winter.
pushing snow out of the way to open the door. it is actually a step down there.
Sometimes I actually think it looks pretty....
Have I mentioned that we don't have a dryer...clothes everywhere.

Well the entire drive to work Brian kept talking about how pretty the snow was and how much he loves it. Since he always seems to be able to make lemonade out of lemons I decided I would do the same. After a quick trip to the grocery store and putting a bowl out to catch snow I made snow cream.

I didn't measure anything. I just put fresh snow in and added milk, sugar, and vanilla for taste and consistency. I added a little cinnamon and marshmallows for some spice and woohoo........
snow cream!!!
Notice how deep my feet are buried in snow!

Maybe this snow stuff is not all bad....

Full of Love

You know I love any reason to celebrate a holiday but we have an extra reason to celebrate this day of love. Baby #2 is on the way!

Tiny Tims...

I am due the end of July and feeling great! I just had my 16 week checkup today and the baby is sounding healthy. Amelia came to the appointment with me and when we heard the heartbeat she couldn't help but dance along. I have gained 1lb so far and have felt the little tiny raindrop flutters of movement. Looking forward to another summer pregnancy (not). I plan on doing weekly bump pictures once we are in the new house and giving more details once I start those.

Hope everyone finds reason to celebrate today, Happy love day from our family to yours!
