38 Weeks & Summertime

38 Weeks
-Swimming in our pool
-Beach trip
-Saying hi (all the time)
-Loves dancing
-Greek Festival (delicious)

Summer is here!!!! The weather is still bearable in Georgia and we are loving our first taste of a southern summer. Check back in a couple of months to see if we are feeling the same...

Our neighborhood pool opened up this week and I can see how much we are going to NEED the pool this summer. Amelia loved loved it. She loves being outside anyway but add in some water and this is one happy baby. As soon as I got her in the water her little legs were kicking. She is a daddy's girl through and through.

It takes around 3 minutes to walk back to the house
and she was passed out....just exhausted.

Coming from Cali we are obviously beach people. We kept hearing everyone talking about "the beach" in Georgia. This week we finally got to check it out. The weather was perfect (I even got a little color to prove it). We had such a good time hanging out with friends, sitting in the water, and most importantly eating sand. I can always tell Amelia is having a good time when she can just sit and observe. She is such a sweet little bean.

So happy to be eating sand...
This picture is definitely frame worthy, love it.

I think we will be beach and pool regulars. I feel like Georgia has so many great things to offer and we have loved getting to know our new home.

Happy Memorial Day everyone!

Biggest Loser Check In

Insanity Week 4

Scratch that...I am back at week 1. I made it through the first three weeks with flying colors (and super sore muscles) and then came the flu. I dare you to try Insanity with the flu. I take that back....no one should ever try that. I thought I could pick it right back up after a 2 week break and my body said absolutely not. I picked up on day 1 yesterday and felt every muscle being worked all over again. Don't you love how you can work hard for months and take a 2 week sick break and it is as if you are starting over from the beginning.

Brian and I ended our first phase of the Biggest Loser challenge. We started out really strong and then both hit the wall pretty hard. Brian fluctuated quite a bit and ended with a weight lose of 8 lbs after the 12 weeks. I also ended up with 8 lbs lost which makes me the winner percentage wise. However since neither of us are "big" losers we are entering the second phase declaring no one a winner yet. Our next phase ends August 12th giving us another 12 weeks to try and reach our ultimate goals. Brian has 20lbs to go and I have around 12. Now if we could just give up pizza Thursdays...

Here's to a healthy Wednesday :)

37 Weeks

37 Weeks
-First Mother's Day!
-Sick, sick, sick

We had a very uneventful week due to some serious illness. Okay that was an exaggeration, it was in no way "serious" but we were out of commission. We did not even leave the house for most of the week. Good news is that we are on the uphill and feeling much better. For the blogs sake though it's been a boring week.

We celebrated my first Mother's Day this week. Brian was very sweet and took care of Amelia the entire weekend and I just got to do the fun stuff with her. My first Mother's day gift was great. I got a roll of untreated canvas, 7 tubes of Acrylic paint, and new paintbrushes! I can't wait to get to work on that untouched canvas. Brian also made me breakfast in bed. By breakfast in bed I mean reheated pizza from the day before on the couch at 11:30 because I slept on the couch and woke up really late. Honestly we were SOOOO sick I felt really fortunate that we had anything at all :)

Let's hope for a more eventful next week and good health :)

36 Weeks

36 Weeks
-Greek Easter!!!!!!!!!
-Blue Ridge, Ga
-Hiking Red Top Mountain
-Amelia started waving
-the flu....booo

This weekend was Greek Easter. Growing up we always celebrated two Easters...which was awesome! I LOVE LOVE Greek Easter! It does not get better than Greek food, my all time favorite. I can't wait until Amelia can try all the good eats. This year we celebrated with our family here in Georgia and we had a great time.  The picture below is a picture from us at last years Greek Easter which you can read about here. I think I was about 5 months pregnant, funny how much can change in a year :)

Brian had a couple of days off this week so we decided that we wanted to check a couple of Georgia things off our list. We made it up to the cute town of Blue Ridge. We hit up the Olive Oil company there and LOVED it. I loved trying all the different types of Olive Oil and Balsamic vinegar. If you are in the area check it out it was great (except the African Olive Oil....not good). After our trip to Blue Ridge we wanted to go on a little hike. Goose loves the water so we went to Lake Allatoona to try and find some trails around the lake. We found a great 5 mile trail that walked right along the lake almost the whole time. We could barely get Goose out of the water. It was such a nice hike and we are finally getting to break in our hiking backpack.

Amelia loves the backpack and being out and about. She usually passes out like this which cracks us up every time.

This week we also got hit with the flu. Very exciting...and by exciting I mean extra laundry, dirty dishes in the sink, pajamas all day, and Brian working from home. We are really fortunate that Brian can work from home because I am completely useless this week. The funny thing is that even though Amelia has been sick she is still a happy little ham. Sometimes when she is eating she can't stop smiling long enough to keep the food in her mouth. Evidence below.

Anyway I need to sign off and take a much needed nap....or eat the chicken soup that a sweet friend brought by. Happy day before Friday everyone!

35 Weeks

*****8 Months*****
35 Weeks
-8 months old!!!
-First camping trip
-Army crawling
-Eating normal people food (Yay!)

I think all parents feel this way but sometimes I just feel so lucky. For someone who wasn't sure about having kids I have had an Amelia sized change of heart. Life is just richer with her around. Enough gushing for this post though, moving on...

We had our first camping trip this weekend as a family. Of course Goose was in heaven but Amelia loved it too. She is all about being outdoors and fits right in with our little outdoor loving family. I forgot to upload pictures of our trip but we'll get those up here soon.

Amelia is all hands on these days and I could not get her to leave the chalkboard alone. It was bound to happen I guess. The series of our 35 week pictures is Amelia playing with the chalkboard and me trying to fix it while snapping pictures. See the cuteness below.

Amelia turned 8 months old last week so we did our monthly pajama photo shoot. I have been loving little separate pajamas and they are much better as the weather gets warmer here in the south.

Signature selfie
 Serious face

These next photos cracked me up. People ask me if I stage photos with Goose and Amelia but I never do. He always likes to jump right in the pictures or be as close to Amelia as possible. Usually I have to kick him out of the pictures. They are like two peas in a pod and I couldn't have asked for a better dog to be around our Bubba.

Hey wanna play?
Goose making funny faces behind Amelia's back.
I wasn't making funny faces....

We'll call the last picture her official 8 month pajama picture. She was laughing out loud at Goose....who was just sitting there. Anyway, hope you enjoyed all the photos because honestly who reads this anyway....it's all about the pictures.
