9 Weeks

9 Weeks
-Visited the Georgia aquarium
-Ate lunch in Pemberton Square
-Walked around Centennial Park
-Went to the pumpkin patch

We had such an exciting week! We headed into Atlanta and met up with some friends at the Georgia Aquarium.  The aquarium has the biggest fish tank in the world, which had two whale sharks and manta rays.  It was actually really cool.  Amelia was awake the whole time we were at the aquarium and she enjoyed looking around.  While Amelia has no idea what was going on she does enjoy being able to check out her surroundings.  After the aquarium we walked around Centennial Park and hung out in Pemberton Square.  It was a beautiful fall day and we really enjoyed getting to know the city a little more.  When people come to visit I'm sure we will hit up these locations again :)

I did another pajama photo shoot of Amelia for the 2 month milestone.  She got these adorable pajamas from Katie and we wore them almost all month.  She also dressed up for Halloween but those pictures deserve their own post.  Enjoy her smiles and footsie pajamas!

Kinsley Family Farm

We took a trip to a local family farm for some pumpkins this weekend.  I have been looking forward to dressing Amelia up in her Halloween best and heading down to a pumpkin patch since the leaves started changing.  She looked so cute all dressed up and blended right in with the pumpkins.  I did add a little bow to her pumpkin hat because she looked a little boyish so I thought I would girl it up.

We looked up local pumpkin farms and found Kinsley Family Farm.  They are actually known for doing Christmas trees but have expanded to all participating in fall harvest fun.  They have every type of pumpkin, hayrides, and homemade cider.  We picked up one really large pumpkin and some cider and plan on having fun with that tonight.  It was a beautiful farm and we are excited to head back and chop down our first real Christmas tree this year.

Here are some pictures from our fun on the farm :)

On the way there.

Hanging out in the pumpkins.

8 Weeks

look at how good she is sitting up :)

8 Weeks
-Holding her head up and spending lots of time on her tummy
-Slept 9.5! hours last night
-Lots of smiles and babbling
-Amelia's Halloween costume came in the mail (can't wait to share)

We've had a fun week over here watching the presidential debates and Giants baseball :) Amelia is of course very interested in politics.  Kidding aside when the TV is on that girl zones in, I'm a little worried (haha). Amelia has been so smiley and happy.  My favorite thing right now is her babbling.  I'm thinking she is going to be a little talker.  She loves hearing her voice and she can get pretty vocal.  She also will stare at my mouth when I talk to her and almost try to imitate the movement.  Its been so fun watching her learn and grow. She has even started to grow out of her newborn clothes.

Well we have some exciting things coming up soon.  Our closing date is fast approaching and I can not wait to share all the house details and projects we have planned.  We have been looking forward to this for a long time. Another thing I have been looking forward to is decorating Amelia for the holidays and share all that cuteness.

Here are some pictures from this last week :)

 All smiles in the morning.

 Look at those cheeks!
She looks at me like "Get that thing out
of my face" haha.
This picture kills me.  So cute how her nose
gets all scrunched when she smiles! I love it.
I actually have a wrinkle above
my nose because I'm a nose scruncher :)

7 Weeks

7 Weeks
-Met Aunt Elaine & Uncle Mark (Thia & Thio)
-Met Cousins Chris, Collins, & Emerson
-Started smiling (all the time!)
-Sleeping 8-9 hours every night

We have been having a lot of fun hanging out with our Georgia family this week.  Aunt Elaine and Uncle Mark have been in town and we have loved having company at the(their) house. Amelia is starting to smile and is really a happy little baby. I feel like there are a lot of changes from one day to the next.  I'm trying to enjoy everyday because I already feel like time is going so fast.

We have been using the baby wise book to try and get Amelia on a schedule.  We have been pretty successful with it so far.  As far as sleeping at night Amelia has always been great at it.  We are up to 8 or 9 hours every night followed by a 2-3 hour nap immediately. I'm hoping we will be at 12 hours by 12 weeks, that's the goal.  Hopefully I am being realistic about this timeline. I'll keep you posted.

I'll leave you with a picture of Amelia's sweet smile :)

so happy!

6 Weeks

6 Weeks
-10lbs & 22.5in (tall and skinny)
-Got a shot at one month Dr. appointment
-Found a house!!! (more on that)
-Met cousin Stephanie and Bowie
-Went to the outlet mall

We found a house!! We are so excited and can't wait to share all the details.  I don't wanna count our chickens yet because the inspection was just today but we are so thrilled to have found one so fast.  My mind and pinterest account are going non stop with fun ideas.

Amelia is doing great and we are having a wonderful time hanging out together.  She is starting to smile at me and becoming much more observant with a lot of awake time. We went to the Dr. yesterday for her one month checkup.  She did well and didn't even cry (even when they made us wait 30 minutes with her just in her diaper!) Well I guess she did cry when she got her shot but only for about ten seconds. I was a proud mom.

I feel so fortunate that I get to hang out with her all day! Also this week we discovered the swaddle me and it has made quite the difference.  She fights it at first but once she settles she sleeps really great.  I would recommend it for babies who like swaddling.

Here are a couple pictures from this week. Amelia is getting cuter and chubbier everyday :)

Leopard/Pink blanket from Grandma&Grandpa Yoast.
I actually think she looks
a little like me in this picture (maybe...?)

And back to looking like Brian.

5 Weeks

look at that bald head :)

5 Weeks
-Survived first thunder and lightening storm
-Sleeping 7+ hours a night
-Read first Amelia Bedelia book (thanks Aunt Katie)
- Spent 15 minutes (awake) in the swing
-Went on walks in the stroller
-Went house hunting

We have had a pretty uneventful week, which has been such a relief.  We are finally starting to relax and get into a rhythm.  It took a few days to recover from the trip and get onto a schedule.  Now Amelia is sleeping around 6-7 hours at night and taking about 6 naps a day.  I have actually started putting her down for her naps awake and she has been soothing herself to sleep.  It isn't successful every time and sometimes takes her about 45 minutes to fall asleep but she is doing really well.  It has been fun having her more awake during the day and interacting with her.  We really enjoy reading books, but she loves chatting with us the most.

Amelia is starting to really love her bath time.  She gets so relaxed when we start the water and she loves her night time routine.  After her bath we read a book and Dad sings church hymns. So sweet.  I look forward to it everyday too!

Yesterday we did a photo shoot in my favorite pajamas! She looks just like her dad!

Got a little smile.

Such a Brian face!
