Amelia is Five!

Amelia turned 5!...a couple weeks ago. I would say I've been busy but really I was just trying to soak up every minute before school started today. I am so proud of Amelia and equally heartbroken that she started school. I'm not sad about the growing up but I realized today that I am sad that I'm not a part of something in her life. She was telling me all about her friends and the tables in the cafeteria and I found myself holding back tears. This was the first time in 5 years that she is experiencing something that I'm not there for. I know it will pass but this is a giant change and I already miss her. She loved her first day and I know that she will do amazingly well.

Back to her birthday. We were so lucky to have my parents here visiting so it made the day extra special. She asked for was a Maui we did out best.

Her favorite gift was for sure the Moana necklace.
My mom made cute little doll quilts, mattresses and pillows. We added some legs on a couple of wooden crates and tada...doll cribs.

We went mini golfing, go carts, and arcade for her birthday. I think the park was thrown in there too. Amelia's day of fun!
How cute that she got car 5?! And I've never seen a kid have more fun.
The day before her birthday she tripped and fell into a doorway. She had a nice little half mustache bruise and a fat lip for the big day. Even with the bruise and cupcake on her face she looks so pretty in this picture. Her joy really comes through.
I love being her mom and watching her grow. I'm proud of her everyday and the choices she makes. She loves to learn and is as sweet as they come. She is truly as beautiful inside as she is outside.

Coco is Three!!!

Coco is three!!! We had a really great day celebrating our girl. We spent the night before decorating, wrapping presents, and blowing up balloons. I found myself going back to old blog posts and feeling all sorts of heartbreak that these babies are getting so big. Time seems to be speeding up.

When we asked Coco what she wanted for her birthday she said she wanted to go to the arcade and have a Zootopia birthday. Perfect!
Can we all still get this excited about seeing balloons?
Amelia gave Coco a batman pencil case and made her a Zootopia coloring book. She LOVES surprising people with presents. Cutest thing ever.
 Judy Hops ZPD badge.
After presents and donuts for breakfast, the girls and I went to the beach. I usually only plan on staying for a couple of hours but we stayed for 6. The weather was perfect, tide was perfect, and we made new friends. I took tons of pictures but those are all on my phone. To be shared another time.

We had other plans but the beach interfered, as it does. We came home from the beach, cleaned up a little, and made cupcakes. My girls love baking so we always plan on them helping with any treats. They made the toppers and piped the frosting on. It was seriously so  much fun. The simple things are always the best right?
 So proud of their creations
Coco's cupcake for later.

When Brian got home from work we made our way to the arcade. But first pictures in her birthday shirt.
We hit the arcade, ice cream, and the park. These are all walking distance from each other...and the beach. We ended the evening of fun with the sunset as well. Pretty perfect.
Coco is hilarious. She is smart, kind, beautiful, and has so much attitude. Coco is a little ball of muscle that climbs everything. She box jumps up the stairs everyday. It's just how she does stairs. She learned to ride her bike this summer and a skateboard down the driveway. She is brave and curious. As I'm typing this she has climbed to the top of my treadmill to look out the window at a bird. She is growing up so fast but still says words like blueblerry. She says "what in the heck" and "what do you think you're talking about" which gives me a glance into a teenage Coco. She still calls Amelia "Mel Mel" and loves to follow her around. She has the best imagination and will sit through book after book as long as her Dad is reading them. I can already tell that three is going to be a really great age. I feel really grateful that I get to be Coco's mom.

Fourth of July!

We spent our Fourth of July doing what we do for every holiday, the beach of course. Amelia spent most of her time "surfing" and loving it. She is seriously stoked and only a matter of time until she is out there with her dad. It was such a relaxing fun day.

I also took the obligatory holiday pictures of the girls.
We also went strawberry picking for the first time, which the girls loved. I probably loved it more than anyone though. It would be really great if I made jam but we just ate a ton of strawberries and then I froze the rest for smoothies.
I hope everyone had a happy and fun holiday!

Springtime & Easter

We are finally in Spring. We had a snow storm two weeks ago and then it was 87* yesterday. Maine weather can't make up it's mind but the snow is melted and we are spending most of our time outdoors. Finally!

Today my energy is lower than normal so I'm just going to post pictures of our springtime holidays.

Painted a rainbow on her leprechaun trap.

I had to include the below "outtake" of Coco. She makes this Elvis lip face all the time. It makes me out loud laugh every single time.

 Easter Sunday dresses!
They chose this pose ;)

Happy Monday!

ps. Shout out to Yia-yia and Papa for 95% of their Easter presents. My poor girls wouldn't know what a present was without them :)
